Ironically I’m judging ‘Smart Ass Cripple’s Little Red Book‘ by it’s brilliant cover, but I have a good reason. If brain power could power our homes, this guy would give ComEd a run for their money… err energy. I’m very much looking forward to diving into his book!
The internet is a wonderful place to find wonderful minds full of wonderful thoughts, check his out in these places:

Tattoo Temple | Body Art | Fine Art | Hong Kong
Blending fine art, painting and traditional tattooing, this shop in Hong Kong blew me away with their skillful artist. Check out their work and tell me if you aren’t impressed with their control of their machines. Their machines aren’t paint brushes, but it could be confused with fine art. Amazing.
I’ll be stopping in on my next trip to Hong Kong!

Why isn’t there one for the Midwest? We have ideas too. Plus, isn’t SXSW getting a little overly commercial? The reason people loved it before was it had a ‘ground level’ appeal. Sure there are still innovations and unveilings that go on there, but it’s time to move on. It might have jumped the shark.
I suggest smaller, more regional events that happen yearly. Like the Olympics. So a city hosts the event once a year and selling tickets just the same. Let’s have this thing travel!
Just a quick thought, but had to get it out there. Discuss below!
{ UPDATE }
After a heads up from a friend, MXMW.com already “exists/existed”. I use quotes because it looks like the funds raised were not enough to host the festival. The founders decided to donate the funds to HAVEN, a local charity. I’m into that solution, even though the event would have grown, but maybe Michigan wasn’t the best location to start in.
On the flipside, Chicago would be an ideal launch point. Especially considering the city was so amp’ed for the 2016 Olympic bid last year. It’s obvouis we’re hungry for a big event to show off the city and willing to come out to support the effort. If that’s not enough proof, just look how we showed up for the ’08 Obama ‘Yes We Can’ speech in Grant Park.
